PYBAR confirms its position in WA with the Red October development contract

Saracen Mineral Holdings Ltd have chosen PYBAR to establish the Red October Underground Mine in Western Australia. With an ongoing focus on safety and environmental systems and well as their reputation for quality, service and fast track underground development, PYBAR are proud to have been awarded the well-contested contract.

“This project involves Portal establishment, Underground Development, Production and Diamond Drilling as well as all associated activities”, explained PYBAR CEO, Paul Rouse. “At this stage, we are looking at a start-up team in excess of 34 people,” he said.

Saracen Mineral Holdings Ltd is an Australian-based gold producer and explorer whose core asset is the 100% owned Carosue Dam Operation, located 120km north-east of Kalgoorlie.

Saracen is one of Australia’s up and coming mining companies with its assets spanning the world-class mining district of South Laverton in Western Australia. This includes around 200 granted tenements and applications pending spread over 2,500 square kilometres. Since 2006, the company’s exploration and development efforts have seen substantial increases in gold resources and reserves, presently standing at around 3,000,000oz in South Laverton and 880,000oz at Carosue Dam.

The Red October Underground Project is located approximately 1000kms north-east of Perth and currently a trial mine is being planned to confirm the geological interpretation and metallurgical properties for the proposed underground mining operation. PYBAR are looking forward to working with their new partners on this project and aim to mobilise to site in the next few weeks.

This project is PYBAR’s sixth in Western Australia and confirms their position in this state as an established mining contractor. Utilising their extensive fleet of equipment, PYBAR will be able to quickly and easily resource their operations in Western Australia.

PYBAR CEO Paul Rouse: “We look forward to developing a ‘one team’ approach, working in partnership with this important client to deliver a profitable project for Red October and future sites”
