New Contracts Awarded At Prominent Hill And Rosebery
December 11, 2025PYBAR’S leadership and estimating teams have been busy over recent months, working with our clients, both existing and new, on a high volume of tenders for new work for our business.
We are very pleased to share that the quality of these proposals and our demonstrated commitment to the PYBAR values, SAFETY, SERVICE, RESPECT + RESULTS, has resulted in the recent award of two new contracts. Mobilisation of our equipment and skilled teams to these new projects is ramping up as we look forward to a busy and rewarding year ahead for PYBAR.
Prominent Hill, South Australia
PYBAR’s Raise Bore Division has recently arrived on site at BHP’s Prominent Hill mine, 650km north-west of Adelaide, preparing to deliver a series of ventilation raises and inclined ore passes which will facilitate safe and efficient ore flow throughout the mine’s Malu orebody to the newly constructed Wira Shaft. The contract comes after innovative study work and strong collaboration between PYBAR and BHP to devise the final construction methodology.
PYBAR General Manager, James Glover, said: “We look forward to supporting BHP to deliver quality outcomes for this important project. We have been performing similar works at BHP’s Carrapateena mine since 2017, and this contract award builds on this strong relationship.
“This contract award for PYBAR strengthens our presence in South Australia, where Thiess has been delivering mining services at the Prominent Hill mine since 2005. We look forward to continuing our partnership with BHP and delivering this project safely, efficiently and sustainably.”

Rosebery, Tasmania
PYBAR has secured a three-year contract to provide underground rehabilitation and development services at MMG Limited’s Rosebery Mine in Tasmania.
The agreement further strengthens our relationship with MMG and solidifies our presence at Rosebery where PYBAR has been delivering a three-year shotcrete and cemented rock fill (CRF) contract since April 2023.
PYBAR General Manager, James Glover, said: “We look forward to furthering our work with MMG at the Rosebery mine, which directly contributes to Australia’s standing as a major global supplier of critical minerals.
“Our team has mobilised to site to start work on the new scope, committed to quality outcomes.”
Located approximately 300km north-west of Hobart, the Rosebery mine produces zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré and has been operating continuously for almost 90 years. We’re proud to play our part in the long history and the future of the Rosebery mine.
