Mine Development, Mine Production, New South Wales

PYBAR has been selected as preferred contractor to manage the consolidation of Chinova Resources underground mining and maintenance activities of Kulthor, Osborne and Starra 276.

Production has already commenced at Osborne and is expected to continue to mid-2013. Starra 276 is expected to commence production in the first quarter of 2013 while Kulthor is currently in initial stoping production.

PYBAR have been undertaking development at Osborne since May 2011 and have consistently exceeded targets.

“A proven relationship with Chinova Resources Australia has been confirmed through the award of this tender. PYBAR aims to continue to assist Ivanhoe Australia to meet their desired targets through our skills and competencies, particularly our flexibility to adapt with changes in the mine plan as required.” says Andrew Rouse Executive Manager, Technical Services.

This new contract includes approximately 6800m of development and production of 3.6 million tonnes of copper-gold ore.

Ivanhoe staff currently working in roles that are now managed by PYBAR will be considered for transfer to similar roles with the organisation.

Mobilisation and ramp up will commence at the end of November and continue into December.
